The club was founded in 1989. The club was previously known as Putra Samarinda before moving their home base to Bali and changing their name to Bali United Pusam in 2014. Bali United's supporter is called Semeton Dewata.
The 2015 home, away and third kits that the Bali United Pusam wears during their first 2015 Super League campaign were unveiled. The Serdadu Tridatu (Tridatu Warriors) 2015 kits use the same modern shirt design from Krisna. All jerseys feature a modern standing collar that opens to a rounded neck at its front.
Semeton Dewata's pride club will wear a three kit match range from Krisna. While Krisna is a clothing company from Denpasar, Bali. The collection features a home kit in red, a predominantly white away shirt, and a solid feel third kit in black. The shorts feature the Poleng (black and white boxes) on the both side.
Although Bali United is the newcomer club in Super League, they already have solid sponsorship. The IM3 branding is on the left and right shoulder, while on kits front located Achilles, Indofood and Corsa branding. On the shirts back, there are Indofood branding above the numberset and YCAB Foundation on its below.
